Inspection Points
I will be using my expertise to examine a great number of items and will be as thorough as possible during your home inspection. A home inspection will take several hours because the process is thorough and detailed. I trust that you do not want me to be hurried or rushed during my inspection.
Structural Systems - foundation; grading and drainage around the home; roof covering; roof/attic structure insulation, ventilation; interior and exterior walls; ceilings; floors; interior and exterior doors; windows; fireplace/chimneys; porches, decks, and attached garages.
Electrical Systems - main service entrance panel; subpanel; branch circuits; ground-fault-circuit interrupter (GFCI) circuits; arc-fault-circuit-interrupter (AFCI) circuits; connected devices
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning System - heating equipment; air conditioning system; ducts and vents
Plumbing System - water supply system and fixtures; drains, wastes, and vents; water heater
Appliances - dishwasher; food waste/garbage disposer; range hood; range, oven and cooktop; built-in microwave oven; bathroom exhaust fans; garage door opener; door bell and chime; dryer vent; and other built-in appliances. The ASHI Standards of Practice does not recognize refrigerators, washers, and dryers as built-in appliances, but we will be happy to inspect them if they are staying with the property.
